Optimization of a hybrid process combining nanofiltration and electrodialysis for the treatment of surface water in the Mekong Delta region

The coastal area of the Mekong Delta is facing a huge problem water supply quality due to pesticide (intensive agriculture) and salinity (sea intrusion) contamination. Their simultaneous presence makes this complex requires advanced treatment processes in order meet Vietnamese Guideline for drinking quality. objective work develop an efficient surface based on electrodialysis nanofiltration technologies. approach consists using first stage removal improve, second stage, performance pesticides. question that arises what extent should desalination be carried out effectively remove (nanofiltration) at reasonable cost? To answer question, experimental design methodology was employed describe optimize entire hybrid system. Experiments under optimal conditions deduced from modeling gave results good agreement with predictions allowing validate optimization approach.
